Kaylen Prescott

In 2007 Kaylen released his first CD with a 6 song EP,
“The Cities We Made”. This proved to be the perfect
testing to a full release with sister Kelly as “Prescott”
for their 2009 CD “Lakeside Sessions”. Kaylen wrote or
co-wrote seven of the ten tracks and the CD received
play on CBC Radio 2 Morning and Drive Shows and
BBC 2.

Kaylen  has been on Canadian Pacific Holiday Train U.S.
tour in Dec. 2009 and 2010 and his beautiful,
“Christmas Time On My Mind” recording released on
the Holiday Train CDwith proceeds of the 30,000 units
going to North American food banks.

Kaylen co-wrote and co-produced “Highway Free” with
Madeleine Allakariallak, the Nunavut Territory artist
chosen for CBC Radio 2, 2010 Songquest.

He has also taken on more of a producer role for
Rankin Inlet artist, Sam Tutanuak which had an
unprecedented 3 week stint at number 1 on the
Aboriginal Music Countdown in the fall of 2010.

Kaylen had the opportunity to co-produce some tracks
on Dene artist, Stephen Kakfwi’s, “Spirit of Yamogha,
Songs of the Dene” CD. One of his biggest honours
was to drum with Stephen at Rideau Hall for then
Governor General,  Michaëlle Jean and guests, to
begin work for the newly appointed commissioners of
the Truth & Reconciliation Commission.

He has also been active in editing and directing music
videos including work for Canadian Pacific Holiday
Train Holiday Train animated video plus numerous
music videos for Brothers Dube, Kelly Prescott, Valdy,
Red Moon Road, Stephen Kakfwi  and others.
